Trecco wanted an attention-grabbing explainer video that explained the functionality and value of their new social networking travel app, all in a vibrant style that would be easy on the eye for viewers!
By working closely with the client and offering creative support in several areas of the video’s production and creation, we produced a fun, engaging and clear explainer video. The finished animation showed viewers how to get the most from the app and the challenges the Trecco app overcomes.

Step 1

Scriptwriting & Brainstorming

To ensure the video resonated with Trecco’s target audience of Millennials, we worked closely with the client to create a script that used the right tone and language, while still delivering a clear explanation of the app’s functionality. Once we produced a final draft of the script, we were ready to begin recording audio!.
Step 2

Now it was time to turn our script into a clean and engaging voiceover recording. We helped the client select an artist from our network of talented voice actors to be sure the video had the perfect tone and timbre, in an accent that resonated with Trecco’s key audience. After a couple of sample voice tracks to find the right balance, we captured the perfect recording and moved on to the design.

Step 3

Sketching Phase

We then began the sketching phase, which allows us to come up with first draft designs of the characters, elements and scenes. This was a crucial step, as it allowed us to gather initial feedback and thoughts from the team at Trecco that we could carry forward into later stages.
Step 4

Style sample

After agreeing upon concept sketches with the client, we’re then able to move on to the style sample. Here we can add a considerable amount of character to each…character, by injecting colour and more detail. Again, once the client and our team are happy with the style sample, we move on to the next step!
Step 5

Graphic storyboard

Now comes time to lay out the narrative for the video, showing how the video will play out scene by scene before we commit to animation. Here we showed the Trecco’s characters moving through our own fun versions of local London landmarks, including Big Ben and The Shard!
Step 5

Next, we brought our cast of quirky characters to life. Not only did the animation in this video feature a range of fun and interesting caricatures, but also close-up examples of how the Trecco app interface looks and operates on a mobile phone, perfect for showing-off the system to viewers. The final product was fun and incredibly engaging; the perfect balance!
