Overview

The team at Pingza wanted an animated explainer video that not only did a great job of communicating the value points of their app and service, but was also great fun to watch!
Combining a fun and lighthearted script with a vibrant animation style and a few friendly ‘inside jokes’ about the competitors of Pingza, we created a corporate explainer video that successfully strikes a perfect balance between informational and engaging.

Step 1

Scriptwriting & Brainstorming

We began this project by creating the perfect script for the video. Because the Pingza app has many selling points, we needed to ensure that the script flowed well, moving from lighthearted jokes to clearly outlining the benefits of using their app. After working closely with the Pingza team to ensure the script was 100% accurate as well as fun, we moved on to the next step.
Step 2

Voiceover

Next, the perfect script needs the perfect voiceover; luckily we have a network of incredibly talented voiceover artists and voice actors at our disposal! We selected one of our UK voiceover actors (as this is a UK-focuses app) and found the perfect tone for the video: clear, concise, and fun!

Step 3

Sketching Phase

Our team then moved on to creating initial concept sketches for the scenes and characters in the Pingza video. This phase is very important because it allows us to we capture the right style and feel, and give the client an overview of how each scene and character could look. Once we received the client’s initial feedback and made any necessary tweaks, it was on to the next phase!
Step 4

Style sample

We could now add extra detail and character to each design by injecting color and more intricate design elements. This ‘style setting’ phase shows how the characters will look in the final production, and again presents another opportunity for client feedback and refinement.
Step 5

Graphic storyboard

Before we move on to the final step, we lay out a scene-by-scene storyboard to show how the video will play out. This shows the order of the scenes and how each one will fit with the voiceover, and again presents another opportunity for client feedback and tweaks.
Step 5

Animation

Now that we have the style and voiceover to work with, our buzzing team of animators injects movement and energy into every scene. This 2D graphic animation featured exploding robots, fluid movement of the wine and graphic renderings of the app’s interface, so we had a lot to work with! Both the client and the team at Kashu were thrilled with the finished product.
