This was an incredibly fun animation to work on! The great use of colours, character design quirky animation resulted in an attractive video that we and the team at Nipper Electric were thrilled with!
We worked closely with the client to ensure the style and feel of the video accurately represented their brand, but also featured plenty of personality too.
Nipper Electric wanted an attractive, colourful and upbeat animated explainer video that represented their real-life local presence and the true look of the homes they service in Virginia Beach, Norfolk and other surrounding areas.
They also wanted the video to summarise the history of the company, as well as clearly showing the local areas in which they provide trusted electrical services. By working closely with their team, we were also able to accurately represent the actual aesthetics of the areas they service, including the appearance of houses in that particular area of the USA!

Step 1
Scriptwriting & Brainstorming
To get the best possible start to this project, it was crucial that we nailed-down a script that communicated each of the value points Nipper Electric wanted to make clear. Luckily, we have an expert team of experienced script writers who specialise in producing high-quality scripts and sales copy, perfect for presenting value propositions without coming across too ‘salesy’!
Step 2
Voiceover
Once we agreed the script was 100% perfect, next came the voiceover! This is a great part of the process, as each client begins to see their video build character and energy, based on the tone and delivery of each voiceover.
Step 3
Sketching Phase
After settling on the pace and content of Nipper Electric’s voiceover recording, our team of talented designers produced an initial sketch storyboard for the video.
Step 4
Style sample
This step is crucial, as it allows us to map the scenes, character and element styles to be used in each scene, and show samples to each character before committing and moving forward with one particular design style.

Graphic storyboard
The team at Nipper Electric were thrilled with the sketches and the samples we planned to use in their explainer video, so we began to design the graphic storyboard

From top-down map scenes to funny character scenes (sorry about your TV, Mr!) this attention-grabbing video was full of personality and energy, but still clearly shows the value points of the Nipper Electric service.
