Overview

Gaaiho have created a simple yet sophisticated solution to an all-too common problem: a PDF reader & editor that makes editing PDFs as simple as using a Word document! They approached us needing a way to quickly explain and show the value of their software.
With a short but engaging Animated Explainer Video created by the buzzing creative team at Kashu, they are now able to quickly demonstrate the functionality and value of their software in just 17 seconds!

Step 1

Scriptwriting & Brainstorming

Because Gaaiho needed a short and concise animation in this video, it was crucial that the script for their video was very efficient at communicating the value of their system. We worked hard to create a professional script that got straight to the point, and delivered a clear value proposition to the viewer. Once the team at Gaaiho were 100% happy with the script, we moved on to recording some audio for the video!
Step 2

Voiceover

Once we had an effective and concise script, we moved on to the voiceover! We helped the Gaaiho team select a voiceover from our network of approved, experienced and talented artists. We have artists from all around the world, meaning we could easily find the perfect tone, accent and language for Gaaiho’s explainer video.

Step 3

Sketching Phase

Now we can start to create and test character and scene designs. We begin by drafting some rough sketches of each element we want to include in the video; in this video there was a strong focus on the computer screen and being able to see the Gaaiho system in action, so we ensured the monitor was large and clear enough to see in the video!
Step 4

Style sample

Next we move on to creating the style samples – these are more detailed versions of the first sketch designs. During this stage we add colour and more detail, which in this case included more design of the computer screen and graphic render of the Gaaiho system, as well as our main character and her office setting
Step 5

Graphic storyboard

Before we commit all of the characters, elements and scenes to the animation stage, we map out the narrative of the video by creating a storyboard. Admittedly, this was a shorter storyboard than usual, but we still need to show the few scenes in this video in order and describe what happens in each section of the animation so we and the team at Gaaiho could imagine how it would all play out.
Step 6

Animation

During the final stage, our animation team brought Gaaiho’s animated explainer video to life, ensuring that the functionality of the PDF reader & editor looked fluid and realistic on the graphic computer screen, as well as giving our character realistic movement too. The transition from the intro screen into the office setting was sleek and seamless too, perfect for a short and engaging animation like this!
