Step 1

Scriptwriting & Brainstorming

After locking horns with the superb team at DataLight, we began co-creating their vision by throwing down some sketches and ideas for an animated explainer video. This involved creating a visual contrast between the idea of a stressful and overwhelming working scenario versus the calm and collected approach envisioned expertly by our client.

With the script finalized, it was time for us to utilize one of our carefully picked voiceover artists to deliver the specific and impactful tone and emotion this script required. As you can hear, the insightful and no-nonsense delivery cuts straight to the point and really draws the viewer into the animation.

Sketching Phase

This stage was vitally important in establishing exactly what our client’s needs were and we were able to bounce some ideas around the room – all the while feeding off the creative energy we shared – adjusting and adapting ideas in real-time.

Style sample

Collaboration between DataLight and ourselves was once again key here and with them now fully on board with our sketches, we explored style concepts further; taking into consideration any feedback they had and delving deeper into the colour schemes and finer details of the project.

Graphic storyboard

Now to the good stuff: we get to demonstrate how the narrative will unfold and how our character will develop throughout the video sequence – this breathes life into the client’s values by displaying visuals inspired by the concept of using simplified data and analytical tools to succeed in making precise, data-driven trading decisions.

As you can see, we applied strong and oppressive red colors to evoke a feeling of stress and pressure in the workplace; a sense of feeling utterly overwhelmed.  We then juxtaposed this with the warm, clean and organic colors that represent DataLight’s ethos of working smartly and effectively in an uncluttered and tranquil digital environment; thus, creating an enticing and user-friendly platform for their users.
